Job

The assignment of a discrete set of work tasks to a group of individuals by an employer, from whom they receive compensation for satisfactory performance. Individuals hold jobs, and are typically assigned their initial set of work tasks by their employer. The specific work tasks associated with particular jobs frequently change. This concept of the job is similar to what Super (1976) described as a position.
