Executive Processing

A central construct in the cognitive information processing theory of Peterson, Sampson, Reardon, and Lenz (1996), the executive processing domain refers to cognitive processes an individual uses to regulate less abstract processes (those related to knowledge of the self and occupations, and decision-making). Facets of executive processing include self-talk, self-awareness, and monitoring and control.
